About

Hi there! My name is Peggy. I majored in Human Biology and minored in Bioethics, Humanities and Society in undergrad. I’m a graduate student at the University of Michigan School of Public Health in the Health Behavior and Health Education program.  My focus is   Health Communication and Health advocacy. Here I talk about my pursuit of a public health career, as well as human medicine and biology, science!, public health, politics, Feminism, body positivity, GSRM rights, mental health andddd  reproductive health (phew!).

I’m an editor and writer for the UM SPH blog. I have a tumblr and you can find me on twitter @thebiobabe90. I am a submissions editor for SciNote. I wrote a few times for feminspire. I also briefly wrote for my school’s newspaper .

“There are two kinds of truth: the truth that lights the way and the truth that warms the heart. The first of these is science, and the second is art. Neither is independent of the other or more important than the other. Without art science would be as useless as a pair of high forceps in the hands of a plumber. Without science art would become a crude mess of folklore and emotional quackery. The truth of art keeps science from becoming inhuman, and the truth of science keeps art from becoming ridiculous.” —Raymond Chandler
